Costochondritis...
Sounds scary huh? Well, it was! Wednesday night close to bed time I had a little pain in my back. Before midnight rolled around I was throwing up and doing everything I could think of to ease the stabbing pains. Tylenol = No Good. Warm Bath = No Good. Lay Down and Try to Forget About It = No Good.
I finally called my doctor and after describing my aches and pains she thought I may have a pinched nerve but encouraged me to go to L&D if I couldn't find any way to get relief.
I called Brad at work and by 1:00 a.m. I was finally at the hospital. First thought was that maybe I had a kidney stone and they ordered for me to have an ultrasound first thing in the morning. I was also having pain induced contractions so I was given a shot for that. Another shot for getting sick and on top of all that I couldn't pee so they tried....note...TRIED to catheterize me 3 times. All I can say to that is OUCH and they still didn't get any pee out of me! On top of that the Demerol and morphine they tried for pain management only made me loopy headed but never took away the pain.
It wasn't until Friday afternoon my doctor had me tested for everything she could think of and finally came around to the conclusion that I was suffering from Costochondritis or Inflammation of the cartilage in my ribcage. Cure = Motrin. (I know, go figure.) I finally received some relief and I was very glad but then she gave me the news that I could only have a few doses because of the dangers it can cause during this term of my pregnancy. It is known to lower amniotic fluid which can be dangerous. I cried.... I didn't want to hurt and I didn't want to hurt Blake either, I felt like I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. After my few rounds of Motrin they did an NST and an ultrasound to check the amniotic fluids and everything looked good. My fluid was around 12cm and healthy range is between 5cm and 25cm. They also told me that Blake's weight is around 5 1/2 lbs and he is head down.
I was released to come home Sunday afternoon. I am still sore and I am all puffy and not in my right mind. I have pain medicine but I am trying not to take it. Mainly because I hate the way it makes me feel... I couldn't drive if I needed to, I can barely walk and forget about reading anything. Just typing this blog makes me feel like my eyes are moving ten times slower than my typing. If this blog is crazy that is why. I go as long as I can between doses but I don't want to go into labor because of the pain. I just hurt. I was told I would be sore for a while and just to take it easy. I am going back to see my doctor next week for my 36 week check up and hopefully by then I will feel all better. Again, as always.... please keep us in your prayers. Only a few more weeks until the big day!

30 Weeks
Thursday I went for my 30 week check up! I am getting more and more excited and crazy anxious to get things set up for Blake. I am feeling pretty good. Hailey scared him from one side of my tummy to the other with a flashlight a few days ago and my heartburn is much better. Crazy, I know, but if it works it works lol. I didn't gain any weight (yeah me) so Hailey and I celebrated with a Sonic Blast afterwards :) I am measuring at 31 weeks right now, I don't know how I feel about that... I refuse to deliver a giant baby. I cried when the nurse told me she thought Hailey might be around 8 lbs. Now, she only ended up being 7lb 4oz and that was enough work for me! Keep us in your prayers please!

Baby Check Up
I went to see my obstetrician yesterday. I have gained a couple of more pounds but so far I am staying on track. The baby was very active and has a strong heartbeat.
Hailey thinks it is funny that a baby is in my tummy and is always trying to figure out how we are gonna get it out of there.
In fact when my doctor walked into the room Hailey said "You got me out of my Mommy's tummy." To which the doctor replied "Did your Mommy tell you that?" and Hailey said "No... I just know things."
A day never goes by that she doesn't make me laugh.
My next check-up is set for June 28th. Two days before mine and Brad's birthday! We will have our gender ultrasound that day!!! I am so very excited! So far out of the four preggo people I know. 2 have been blessed with little girls and 2 have been blessed with little boys!!!! So we will tip the scale one way or the other! I can't wait!

Over the 1st Trimester Hump
I am now 14 Weeks along. The little baby is now approximately 4 inches long and weighs just a little less than 2 ounces. My waves of morning/noon/night sickness still bother me occassionally although I can tell that they are not near as often or as severe. My tummy is officially sticking out and I am starting to wear more maternity clothes. In fact, I pulled everything out of my closet last night and began sorting through the things I could put away until this time next year. I have been very lucky and have recieved some adorable hand-me-downs that I also hung up and orgainized. My closet has been begging for a good cleaning out for a while and I was even able to gather a whole bag full of clothes I can sale or donate!
I am behind on telling you about my Mother's Day but I have a ton of pictures I want to post and I have been too lazy to go get them put on a cd. Maybe I will do that this weekend. Basically Lori, Hailey and I went to Gulf Shores and had a blast! I'll tell you all about it later! :)
