Today we put to rest my Great-grandmother, Katie Arletha Jones. She wasn't just a sweet lady but one I looked up to and will miss dearly. My Pepa (Grandfather) saw many of his cousins and I was able to see and visit with many family friends from my childhood. We had sort of a family reunion. Many of the people there today will most likely not ever see each other again this side of eternity. Most of them are in there 70's and older. I am glad so many were able to come and meet together even if it was because we lost Mamaw. My stomach was in knots most of the day. It hurts to lose someone so wonderful. My Mamaw was born on October 31st 1915. I will miss her accounts of working the fields, raising children and making clothes out of scrap fabric and tater sacks. No one will ever match her kindness and love towards me particularly. She always gave me her undivided attention and in her eyes I believe she thought I could do no wrong.
{Thank you Mamaw for all the precious memories made and the time you invested in me. I hope someday my grandchildren will love and miss me as much as I do you.}
