Announcing...

Blake Pearson ~

Our sweet baby boy was born on November 15, 2007, weighing 7lb. 12oz. at 3:29 p.m.

The last post was to let you all know that I was going in on Wednesday the 14th. When Wednesday morning rolled around and we were all ready to go we received a phone call from a nurse at the hospital letting us know that they had a surge of pregnant women come in the night before and they would not be able to induce me until the following Monday. Disappointed...yes...we were all a little disappointed but we got a great pick-me-up a few hours later when my doctor's nurse called to tell us to come in the next day!

Hailey spent the night with Chee-vee and Brad and I drove over to the hospital around 6:30 a.m. As soon as we got there everything was rushed and they acted as if there was no time to waste. They had to start me on antibiotics immediately. Apparently my swab test for Strep B was negative but my culture was positive. I needed at least 4 hours of antibiotics to run before Blake was born for him to be considered immune or have less of a chance of getting sick. That freaked me out a bit and upset me that we didn't know before that morning. Despite that, everything else was a breeze. The pitocin was started right at 7:00 a.m. My epidural was fairly painless and I was able to get it quickly when I started feeling strong contractions. I pushed for an hour and a half but I felt extremely well after he finally made an appearance (except for a bit of nausea). Blake was all purple at first and barely cried for the first 24 hours. I told Brad we may have to nick name him squeaky lol but on Friday night he found his voice and cried ALL NIGHT LONG.

He is such a joy! We love him so much and I just can't explain how great it feels to have a baby again. I didn't realize how much I missed HP being little but now I look at her and she seems so grown up. She has been a wonderful helper and has saved me a thousand steps fetching diapers and wipes and burp clothes and pillows or whatever else Mommy needs at the time. I am so blessed to have her.

The weekend went wonderfully, we had a few visitors and so many thoughtful people brought over food. Again... as I have said before. There is nothing like having wonderful friends and family to share things like this with. We would be lost with out all of you.

Last Wednesday morning I woke up at 3:00 a.m. to feed Blake and I had horrible stomach pain. I eventually gave in and called the doctor. I am being treated for endomitriosis. Please pray things clear up soon. Also Blake was a little jaundice and we had to put him in the Bilibed for a few days. Everything looks good now but we are going for a check up with the pediatrician on Monday. Once again....prayers are requested so that he doesn't rebound.

Sorry it took so long to blog. I know I will think of things I left out but that is the most of it. Thanks for all your love and prayers and well wishes!
