I prayed all morning that HP would do well on her sight word test today. After dropping her off at school with lots of good luck wishes and blown kisses, I shot across the street and walked 5 or so miles with my friend Christy. Afterwards, I came home for a bit and then went back to the school to pick HP up. As soon as she came out the door I asked her "How did it go?". She looked scared to death, so I asked her teacher "How did HP do on her test today?" She told me that HP did very well, but she missed three of them. OK, so three out of fifteen isn't bad, it is still an "A"...HER FIRST "A" "Yea!" I Say!
HP still looked concerned. As we walked up the stairs together she leaned over and whispered "Am I going to get a whoopin'?" Hmmmm....lol "No, you did a very good job!", I said. Then she finally breathed a little. I hope I am not putting to much pressure on her to do her best. I know that she could have aced the test if she had probably taken a little more time, she was saying all of them perfectly Sunday night. I want her to love to do good at school and life in general.
Brad smiled when he saw the paper too, he gave her some money for a slushy tomorrow after school as a reward for doing so well. We have a new group of words to start on for this month, she can read all but (you got it) three of them right off the bat. We will just have to practice, practice, practice.

I am so proud of her AND you! Hailey is such a smart cookie but even the smartest kids never reach their full potential without parents helping them do their best. Way to go, HP! And keep up the good work, Mom! :)
Way to go HP! I'm sure you're not putting too much pressure no her. You've always been a good encourager to her, but for her to do her best and she probably just didn't know what to expect with it being her first.
RA RA RE!!! KICK EM IN THE SIGHT WORDS!!!!!!!! Love ya kid! She's the best!
Aww bless her heart! So glad you didn't whoop her... :)
Way to go HP!
