Blake is 10 months old. I can hardly believe this past year has flown by so fast. He is a sweet heart but he is also so smart and funny. Blake makes our whole family smile. The little booger is really growing up. It seems like within the past month his little light bulb went off and he "gets it" now. When I ask him to do things or not to do them he actually listens.
Not too terribly long ago HP, Blake and I went to Wal-mart to do a little money spending. I had Blake in the buggy seat and he was doing well sitting and looking around. For some reason Wally world is a black hole that sucks me in and when I walk in with the intentions of only being there a few minutes it can turn into hours.
The kids were being so good and I was looking around at this and that when Blake decided to stand up. He was in the squat position when I realized what he was doing and I told him firmly to "sit back down". And, he did! Just like that! Put his little legs back in the holes and sat right back down on his fanny. OF COURSE NO ONE was there to witness it. I looked around justto see if someone saw it. I was so proud of him.
Here are a few things he can do now:
- Says Momma
- Says Dada
- Has 4 teeth
- Walks up to 6 steps at a time
- Eats Everything
- Waves Bye Bye with a cute flappy arm
- Gives sweet sloppy open mouth kisses
- Laughs at EVERYTHING Hailey does
Overall Blake is pretty quiet (except for at church). I have heard that boys are a little slower than girls at talking. At this point HP was blowing him out of the water but I am not comparing. In fact, there are no comparisons to be had. They are near opposites. Blake is so laid back and will watch and laugh at people all day long. The last hour of today was pretty rough though. He was trying to walk from the potty to the tub and he fell and bonked his head. Then he was investigating the vacuum cleaner and tumped over and busted his lip. I felt so bad for him but he is o.k. He was smiling before I tucked him in. Bless his little heart.
Hailey is doing great too. She is a bright little girl. She received her first progress report last week and everything was Satisfactory! She is having her first sight word test Monday (15 words, that's a lot!) Say a little prayer for her to do her best! She has been studying so hard the past few weeks. We are busy reading books for school. Her teacher has her reading 25 books a month. The library has become a common stomping ground. We read a story the other day called Buzzy the Bummble Bee
It is a wonderful story, if you can get your hands on it read it to your kids. Super sweet and teaches kids to believe in themselves.

I was looking at Blake at church on Wednesday night and was just like, "WOW, he is sooo big now."
I am so blessed that our babies are growing up together. I can't believe how big they all are. I am so proud of Blake for minding you in Wal-Mart! He's such a smart boy. I can't wait to hear how great Hailey does on her sight word test.
Both babies are just to stinkin smart. I can't believe how fast they have grown!!!!!!!
Hey Kim! Your kids sound just like mine. My little girl (oldest) is a little worrier and takes things pretty seriously but Jackson is very laid-back. He will fall sometimes and I will think that it is a REALLY bad fall and he will just get up and laugh. I love the sibling relationship, too. Blake is such a cutie. That is so cute that Hailey is studying! Jennifer Lawes
